Etsy Sales
Etsy has redone their platform a bit and changed up how they do some marketing for your shop. This includes running Etsy sales and coupons. Coupons have pretty much stayed the same but the new feature of sales is fantastic. It’s beneficial for those who want to have certain items discounted for specific lengths of time. You can set limitations if you’d like to but don’t have to if you decide you simply want to run a sale without running any sort of spending or quantity requirements.
Step by Step Guide:
Step 1: First go to your SHOP MANAGER. Once there click MARKETING.
Step 2: Once you have clicked MARKETING, you should see these options. From here you will click SALES AND COUPONS.
Step 3: On the SALES AND COUPONS tab you’ll see an image very similar to this with your own statistics of your shop. In the top right corner, you’ll see the orange button (+ New Special Offer) and you’ll click on that.
Step 4: Once you have clicked the orange button in the tope right, this screen will pop up. This gives you the two different options between a SALE and a COUPON. Click on RUN A SALE and then CONTINUE (bottom left orange button).
Step 5: This is the next screen you’ll see. Here is where you can pick your discount, starting at 10% and increasing by 5%. You can set a minimum quantity (items ordered) or order total (dollar amount) or simply have no limitations. It’s completely up to you. For this example I didn’t set any limitations. Then you will pick the duration, you can pick to run it for 1 day, a few days, a week, a month, or more.
If you opted for some sort of limitation (quantity or order total) you may want to describe it in the SALES DETAIL box but it’s fully optional.
Naming your sale is just a name only you will see so you can easily track how it does. Your customer won’t see this name.
Step 6: This screen is the next step. The first image is what you’ll initially see but I’ve post two other photos below showing how you can decide which items to add. You can do it by section or by individual items. This allows you to include 1 item, a few items, or all items in the sale at the same discounted price.
This shows my shops sections, yours will be whatever they are set to. Simply click your ADD MULTIPLE LISTINGS tab to see the drop down menu.
This one is where you can search a specific keyword or term from one or a bunch of your listings and click on the items one at a time to add to your sale.
Just clicked one random item from my search to add for this particular example as shown below.
Step 7: This is the final step before completion of the sale going live. It’ll let you review the sale and how many listings are included in it. If you realize the dates are wrong or you want to change the offer or anything else, simply click the GO BACK button on the bottom right of the screen.
That’s it. Once you click CONFIRM AND CREATE DISCOUNT your sale is active and live. You can share it across social media platforms and mention you have a sale that doesn’t require any coupon code as the sale is taken off at checkout. Another nice feature of this is that it will show your buyers your Etsy Sale price in your shop. Making it so they can see the price they will pay upon checkout, plus whatever shipping cost you have the item(s) set for.
